Unless you have a hideous skirt convention to attend, you should be watching The Devil Wears Prada 2 this weekend. Just in time for the Met Gala, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2006 film hit theaters on May 1, 2026, and the world couldn’t wait to see what happens with Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway), Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt) and Nigel (Stanley Tucci) 20 years after the first movie. But now that the sequel is out, fans are already pining for a Devil Wears Prada 3.
Fortunately, the original cast seems to be on board with another installment. So, is it actually happening? Here’s what we know about a possible third movie.
When Will The Devil Wears Prada 2 Be Streaming?
As of May 2026, we’re about three months away from a streaming release date. The sequel film is expected to be released to Disney+ sometime between August and September 2026, as most 20th Century Productions follow 90 days after their theatrical debuts.
Will There Be a Devil Wears Prada 3?
At the moment, no one from 20th Century has confirmed if a concept for a third film has even been introduced, let alone a full script. But the cast is certainly up for another movie!
During a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, Meryl said she hopes “they don’t wait 20 years” to make another movie. Her co-star Stanley said in a separate interview that, if the studio waits another two decades, they’d have to “exhume” him from the ground.
“I don’t think we can do it in another 20 years. We have to do it sooner than that, because I’ll be dead,” he joked.
Emily and Stanley, for their part, noted they’d love to have more on-screen time together in another DWP movie.
“We love what we got to do, but we didn’t get enough to do together,” Emily said of the second film.
As for Anne, she said she hopes for a third movie, adding, “I feel like there’s more road to explore. But, we’ll probably have a better idea of that [when the film comes out].”
How Much Did it Cost to Make The Devil Wears Prada 2?
The Devil Wears Prada 2 had an estimated $100 million production budget, per Variety. But ticket sales quickly exceeded the budget, not to mention the merchandise the studio put out, including those popcorn “purse” buckets.
