At the same time, the West Indian Day Parade has a long history: in fact, in 2026 it will be held for the 56th time. The parade starts in Crown Heights in Brooklyn, not far from Park Slope. Get ready for a lot of happy and colorfully decorated people – a good mood is guaranteed!

Labor Day Parade or West Indian Day Parade
There are two different parades each day:
The West Indian Day Parade is set for September 7, 2026, at 11:00 am in Brooklyn. This parade starts on the Easter Parkway and Schenectady and heads to Flatbush. There isn’t an official ending time because this tends to last most of the day. You can expect a lot of dancing, live music, and performances celebrating Caribbean culture, arts, history, and tradition.
If you’re looking for something closer to Midtown, Manhattan hosts its own parade on Labor Day. The kick-off events start at 10:00 am at 5th Ave and 44th Street in Manhattan with a free concert.
When is the Labor Day Parade?
The Labor Day Parade usually takes place on the first or second Saturday in September.
