Season 12 of 90 Day Fiance has just begun, and already the cast is causing controversy. Shea McGuire is a realtor and party animal from Paducah, Kentucky, who is wooing Philippino Anabelle Chua. Yet, he has a past arrest that is now being exposed. So, what did the reality star do? Keep reading for all of the details on Shea’s arrest.
Shea McGuire Is Rubbing Fans The Wrong Way
There are always 90 Day Fiance cast members who rub fans the wrong way. It happens every season, and Season 12 is no exception. Shea McGuire has come onto the scene, and the viewers have been instantly repulsed, as they were with Big Ed Brown. He is 54-years-old, a realtor, and loves to party. At the same time, he is set to marry Anabelle Chua, also 54, from the Philippines. However, he has hidden his wild style and the fact that he does kiss other women. Yet, in Shea’s mind, that is not cheating, but what will Anabelle have to say if she were to find out?
Aside from this naughty behavior, it turns out that his bad-boy ways have also gotten him into legal trouble. On July 3rd, 2021, Shea was arrested in Florida for BWI: boating while intoxicated. The 90 Day Fiance star refused to give a blood test, as well as a urine or breathalyzer test. Shea also did not have the proper lighting on his boat, which was a pontoon, so he was arrested. Allegedly, Florida Wildlife Commission officers saw the lights, so they stopped Shea McGuire. As they were nearing, they saw that the driver and passenger did a bait and switch.
The affidavit had many details, but regarding his being intoxicated, it said this:
As the safety inspection was conducted, we observed that the defendant was unstable on his feet. When questioned if he had consumed any alcohol, the defendant then stated “Yeah I’ve been drinking.” I could detect the odor of alcohol coming from the defendant as he spoke to me. At that time I asked the defendant to step aboard my vessel in order to perform field sobriety tasks.
His ultimate punishment was 25 hours of community service and 6 months of probation. Finally, Shea had to take a boater safety class.
TLC, Do Better
After seeing Shea McGuire’s arrest, 90 Day Fiance fans sent an SOS to TLC. They had hoped by now that the network would do better with their vetting of cast members:

It seems that this is going to be another crazy and dramatic season. Whether or not Shea and Anabelle will make it down the aisle is yet to be seen.
