    Wondering what to watch on streaming?

    Every week, MobileSyrup outlines some of the most notable new movies and TV shows.     CBC Gem

    Must Love Dogs [CBC Original]

    CBC Gem premiere date: Monday, April 20 (first four episodes, new episodes weekly)
    Genre: Comedy-drama
    Runtime: 10 episodes

    Follow Winnipeg couple Brady Oliveira (Blue Bombers) and realtor-rescue influencer Alex Blumberg on their rescue work to find forever homes for dogs.

    Stream Must Love Dogs on CBC Gem. It’s also worth noting that the first episode is available on YouTube.

    CBC Gem is free with ads or $5.99/month for an ad-free Premium membership.


    Crave

    Cash Cab (Season 10)

    Crave premiere date: Thursday, April 23 (first two episodes, new episodes every Thursday)

    The classic game show returns with Canadian host Adam Growe, challenging riders to answer trivia questions to win money.

    Estranged brothers reunite after decades at a wedding.

    Late Bloomer (Season 3) [Crave Original]

    Crave premiere date: Friday, April 24 (first two episodes, new episodes every Friday)
    Genre: Comedy
    Runtime: Eight episodes

    Jasmeet closes a chapter on his last relationship while navigating his new career heights.

    Late Bloomer was created by Guelph, Ont. YouTuber Jasmeet Raina and stars Raina.

    Apex [Netflix Original]

    Genre: Thriller
    Runtime: 1 hour, 35 minutes

    A rock climber in Australia is hunted by a cunning killer.

    Apex was directed by Baltasar Kormákur (Touch) and stars Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road), Taron Egerton (Black Bird) and Eric Bana (Munich).

    This is a Gardening Show [Netflix Original]

    Netflix Canada premiere date: Wednesday, April 22
    Genre: Documentary
    Runtime: Six episodes

    Zach Galifianakis dives into the world of gardening with kids and experts. It’s worth noting that the series was shot in Vancouver and the nearby Gulf Islands.

    Running Point (Season 2) [Netflix Original]

    Netflix Canada premiere date: Thursday, April 23
    Genre: Sports comedy

    Isla has to step up when her job and team are on the line.

    Running Point was created by Elaine Ko (Modern Family), Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project), Ike Barinholtz (The Mindy Project) and David Stassen (Central Intelligence) and stars Kate Hudson (Almost Famous), Drew Tarver (The Other Two), Scott MacArthur (The Mick), Brenda Song (Dollface) and Justin Theroux (The Leftovers).

    Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 [Netflix Original]

    Genre: Animated sci-fi

    This alternate take on Stranger Things sees the Hawkins gang taking on new threats in a paranormal mystery.

    The series was produced by Stranger Things masterminds The Duffer Brothers and features a new cast, including Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Luca Diaz as Mike, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max and Elisha Williams as Lucas.

    After his owners separate, an anthropomorphic cat moves into a pet rescue with a group of misfit animals.

    Kevin was created by Joe Wengert (Big Mouth) and Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation) and features the voices of Jason Schwartzman (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse), Plaza, John Waters (Serial Mom) and Whoopi Goldberg (Sister Act).

    Marty Supreme

    Genre: Sports comedy-drama

    An arrogant but talented ping pong player embarks on a quest to become world champion.

    Marty Supreme was co-written and directed by Josh Sadie (Uncut Gems) and stars Timothée Chalamet (Dune), Gwyneth Paltrow (Shakespeare in Love), Odessa A’Zion (Fam), Canadian Trump bootlicker Kevin O’Leary (Shark Tank), and rapper Tyler the Creator (Flower Boy).
