Soap opera fans recently saw Ivy Forrester make her exit on The Bold & the Beautiful. Naturally, this also means that her actress, Ashleigh Brewer, will be leaving the soap. However, the two are leaving on very different circumstances.
Ashleigh Brewer Joined The Bold & the Beautiful Back In 2014
Brewer is an Australian actress famous for her work in soaps. From 2009 to 2014, she appeared as Kate Ramsay on the Australian soap opera, Neighbours.
In May 2014, it was announced that Brewer would be joining the American soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, as Ivy Forrester. Initially departing the soap as a series regular in 2018, she later returned to the series in 2024 on a recurring basis.
However, it’s been announced that Brewer will be exiting the soap for a special reason: she is going on maternity leave. She had married Mark Bauch this past December. Back in February, she announced over Valentine’s Day weekend that they were expecting their first child, a baby girl, together.
For the time being, Brewer kept busy during her pregnancy. While on the Australian podcast, Something to Talk About, she shared, “Working pregnant is such a gift because I get to not think about being pregnant for a really long stretch of time. It’s just lovely to be in a zone every day of, you know, working and then the weeks go fast and the weekends roll around, and I’m like, ‘Oh, there’s a baby coming soon.’”
However, viewers saw the last of Ivy, or at least the character make her departure, during the April 24 episode. However, it has been from less than happy circumstances than her actress. In fact, the show has been using bulky outfits and camera angles to hide Brewer’s pregnancy, since Ivy isn’t expecting such good news.
Ivy Recently Made Her Departure From The Soap With A Promise
On the soap, Ivy has been front and center in recent months as she’s been scheming to pair her niece Electra with RJ, keeping him away from Will. However, her lies caught up with her when her niece learned that she had stolen her letter to Will so that he wouldn’t learn her true feelings.
Will and Electra confronted Ivy in front of Brooke and Ridge. While initially insisting that she was acting out of love, Ivy ultimately felt that overstayed her welcome. She announced that she would leave with a face full of tears. However, after a pause, she promised, “But I will be back.”
The following day, Ivy was seen leaving Forrester Creations with her belongings in a box. While speaking with Daphne, she shared that she didn’t know just when she would be back, but promised she would return. As she warned, “Make no mistake about that, Daphne.”
Naturally, this allows Brewer as much time as she needs to be off from the show, while setting up Ivy’s eventual return. However, fans will have to stay tuned in to the soap to see what happens next.
