“Perhaps the industry should have other solutions, other ways of thinking beyond pitching forums; we are not offering a solution, just a break”

We sat down with the participants and organisers of the Slow Pitch industry programme at ZagrebDox. Now in its sophomore year, Slow Pitch has already proven itself as a refreshing alternative to conventional industry formats, rejecting competitiveness and the high-pressure dynamics of traditional pitching sessions.
Instead, the programme creates space for dialogue and reflection. Mentors Marc Isaacs, Vanja Jambrović, Lucie Kon and Cecilia Lidin take the time to engage deeply with each project, walking through ideas together with the participants in a calm, open environment. Free from stress and time pressure, the focus shifts towards developing thoughts, questioning processes and allowing projects to evolve organically.
The awards of this year’s Slow Pitch programme extend the projects’ industry journey, including a consultancy award by Impronta Films, a residency at RAFF – Rab Film Festival, professional accreditations for the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival (New Visions) and Doclisboa (Nebulae), as well as participation in the Pitching Forum of MEDIMED Doc Market.
