Juventus took a big step towards securing Champions League qualification as Dusan Vlahovic scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Lecce.

Vlahovic opened the scoring after just 12 seconds, the fastest goal of the Serie A season, firing into the roof of the net from Andrea Cambiaso’s left-wing delivery.

The Serbian and Pierre Kalulu later had goals disallowed for offside, but it mattered not as Juve moved into third, four points ahead of fifth-placed Roma in the race for the top four. Lecce, four points clear of the bottom three, missed the chance to confirm their Serie A status.

Champions Inter Milan eased to a 3-0 win at Lazio in a game between the two Coppa Italia finalists.

Lautaro Martinez broke the deadlock before turning provider for Petar Sucic. Alessio Romagnoli was sent off for Lazio in the second half to leave them with a mountain to climb, and the game was put beyond doubt by Henrikh Mkhitaryan 14 minutes from the end of normal time.

The day’s other game saw Udinese win 2-0 at Cagliari.

Bayern beat Wolfsburg, Leipzig seal Champions League

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich ended a week in which they suffered elimination from the Champions League with a 1-0 win over third-bottom Wolfsburg, who are now certain to at least face a relegation play-off.

Harry Kane blazed a first-half penalty high and wide after Michael Olise was fouled, but Olise spared his blushes with a stunning curling effort in off the crossbar.

Wolfsburg will face St. Pauli on the final day in a game to decide who will face the play-off and who will be automatically relegated. St. Pauli lost 2-1 at RB Leipzig, who sealed Champions League football.

Xavier Schlager and Will Orban put Leipzig in command as they scored twice in the space of nine minutes. St. Pauli did pull one back through Abdoulie Ceesay four minutes from time, but they could not complete the comeback.

Wolfsburg and St. Pauli are level on 26 points, with the former holding a three-goal advantage on goal difference.

Stuttgart hold a narrow edge over Hoffenheim in the race for the top four after both prevailed on Saturday.

Goal difference separates the pair tied on 61 points, Stuttgart having dealt Bayer Leverkusen’s Champions League hopes a blow with a 3-1 win over Kasper Hjulmand’s side.

Aleix Garcia gave Leverkusen the lead in the opening minute, only for Ermedin Demirovic to equalise four minutes later. Maximilian Mittelstadt completed the turnaround from the penalty spot in the seventh minute of stoppage time, before Deniz Undav made it 3-1 just before the hour mark.

Leverkusen trail Stuttgart and Hoffenheim, who beat 10-man Werder Bremen 1-0, by three points heading into the final day. Elsewhere, Augsburg kept their hopes of European football alive with a 3-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach.

    Celta stun Atletico

Atletico Madrid capped a week in which they missed out on the Champions League final with a 1-0 home defeat to Celta Vigo, who kept their hopes of playing in that competition next season alive.

Borja Iglesias’ superb chip was the only goal of the game, one that moved them within four points of fifth-placed Real Betis with three games remaining.

Fifth place will be enough for Champions League qualification, with LaLiga receiving an extra spot, but Betis could have a stronger hold on it had they not let a two-goal lead slip against Real Sociedad.

Antony and Abde Ezzalzouli put Betis in control but, after Jon Gorrotxategi saw a goal disallowed for Sociedad, the Copa del Rey winners scored twice in the space of 12 minutes to earn a share of the spoils. Orri Oskarsson halved the deficit before Mikel Oyarzabal levelled from the penalty spot in the first minute of injury time, with Betis seeing Aitor Ruibal sent off for a second bookable offence before full-time.

At the other end of the table, Sevilla boosted their survival hopes in a crowded battle against the drop with a 2-1 win over Espanyol, who are only two points clear of safety themselves.

Elche also have a two-point gap over third-bottom Alaves after they drew 1-1.
