Vanderpump Rules alum Katie Maloney is set to head back to reality television starting this summer. Yet, she has begun to do press, and with that, questions regarding her ex-husband and former co-star Tom Schwartz have arisen. The forty-year-old took the time to shade her former partner while gushing about her new love and spilling the tea on her upcoming venture. Keep reading for more details.
Katie Maloney Away From Ex & In Love
Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney should have never gotten married. That is a fact that most Vanderpump Rules fans can agree on. They found endlessly, and he was unfaithful, plus they both drank excessively, and she could be vicious. On their bachelor/bachelorette trip, the fighting was nonstop. Yet, they walked down the aisle in a $50K+ wedding and tried to make it work, even attempting to have a baby. Unfortunately, their priorities were very different, and they split. Both dated other people, but nothing was solid and serious.
A little over a year ago, Katie began dating Sleeping with Sirens guitarist Nick Martin. They now live together and are quite happy. Furthermore, they will be featured in Stassi Schroeder’s upcoming reality series, House of Stassi. Granted, after VPR came to an end for the OG cast after eleven seasons, Katie was not rushing to get back on television:
“I’ve been off of reality TV for a couple of years now. The last thing I filmed was in 2023. … It’s been really nice just to live a soft life, have it be quiet, have no one up in my business, don’t have to be friends with people I don’t want to be friends with or be forced to be around anyone, including my ex.”
Not that she hates Schwartz, but admittedly, she felt they needed space from each other. Moreover, Katie Maloney wanted to do things her way as she was somewhat “traumatized” after all of those years on Bravo. Now, she has a new network and appears refreshed. Moreover, she is very happy that she gets to do it all over again.
A Fresh Start
Katie Maloney has stepped away from Bravo and filming with her ex-husband, Tom Schwartz. He is now dating Kiana Carroll and is featured on The Valley. As aforementioned, Katie has found love with Nick Martin. They will both be featured on Stassi Schroeder’s new series, House of Stassi. It will pick up where the women are now, how they drifted apart amid a falling out, and managed to reconnect.
They are on very different journeys as Stassi is a married mother of two, while Katie is a divorcee in a happy romance. As for her partner, Nick, she is singing his praises:
“He is so supportive. And it’s just like, ‘Anything you need me to do to help support you, I’ll be there.’ And I’m just like, ‘Well, I mean, it’d be kind of great if you filmed a bit, but like, I don’t want to put that on you, you know.’ But he was such a wonderful, willing participant in that.”
While she and Schwartz had to film for two seasons after they split, it was not the easiest. Katie Maloney admits that she was left feeling broken, but that is not the case with Nick:
“I feel like I’m not so on the defense. I was very tightly wound, very insecure. A lot of those issues from my previous relationship obviously impacted me. So I just feel like I’m just a different person now.”
