John Travolta Shocks With Unrecognizable New Look

John Travolta is one of the most recognizable faces in all of Hollywood, having been around for decades. Yet, he recently stepped out and looked virtually unrecognizable. So, what was so different about the seventy-two-year-old star? Keep reading for more details on his new style and how he is shaking up the industry.

John Travolta Has Sported Many Looks

Fans have seen John Travolta in many iconic and varying roles. The actor became a household name on Welcome Back, Kotter as Vinnie Barbarino. During that time, he launched into films, playing the stud of a teen, Danny Zuko, in Grease, as well as the machismo dancing machine, Tony Manero, in Saturday Night Fever. The latter earned him an Oscar nod, and these helped catapult him into a true movie star. He was able to keep his fame going with Pulp Fiction, Look Who’s Talking, and Hairspray. Plus, he has his flying career and his family. He and his late wife, Kelly Preston, shared three children.

Sadly, their son, Jett, passed away in 2009, while Kelly died in 2020 after a battle with breast cancer. Still, John has continued to work and be a rock for his daughter, Ella, and son, Ben. John has gone from young, slim, and toned with a full head of hair, to bulkier, and, in 2019, he shaved his head. Pitbull told him to do so, and he ran with the advice. It has been a hard adjustment for fans to make, but he was also seemingly wearing a hairpiece, which was also off-putting.

Now, he has stepped out at Cannes, alongside his daughter, Ella, and it does not even look like the same man. John Travolta was slimmed down, donning a cream beret, a black suit with a cream buttoned-down and tie, wire glasses, and a perfectly shaped beard and mustache. He finished the look off with black shoes. Immediately, fans who saw him did not believe that it was him, and did not care for his dyed beard:

• It does not look like him at all
• God he looks awful… don’t touch the hair Dad

A New Look For John

While many could not believe that it was John Travolta, others applauded his look at 72. They stated that he had a stunning daughter and adored their bond. However, it was still hard to believe that this was Danny Zuko:

• He looks ridiculous
• That’s John Travolta??? He looks about 47 years old!!
• Ummm…what? Are you sure that’s actually him

He received an award at Cannes, an honorary lifetime achievement Palm d’Or award, which everyone applauded. Moreover, they knew that he more than deserved it, so regardless of how he was dressed, he won the night.
