Big Brother is set to release its latest season this summer. However, in the meantime, fans think that they will see the return of a few veteran contestants. In fact, some think there might even be another “All-Stars” season on the way. While some fans are sharing clues, others aren’t so sure about the idea.
Big Brother Will Premiere Season 28 This Upcoming July
Big Brother is an American competition series based on the Dutch show of the same name. Premiering in 2000, the show features a group of contestants living isolated in a house while competing in challenges and vote each other out until one remains.
Over the years, contestants have often gotten second chances to win by being welcomed back in later seasons. In fact, this has included full “All-Stars” seasons that features casts made up of veteran players.
Big Brother recently wrapped up Season 27 this past September. However, Season 28 is already slated to debut this July. As noted by TV Insider, it is already being teased as the “biggest season yet.” This could be because some of the episodes will be 90 minutes instead of 60, as well as an expected 1,000th episode celebration.
However, fans already think that the season will be big for another reason. Some think that this might be another “All-Star” season.
Normally, the cast isn’t announced until a week or even days before the premiere. However, some alleged clues already have some fans expecting the return of some houseguests.
Taking to X, one fan shared a press release from Seasons 22 to 28. They wrote, “BB28 is the first season since BB22 to not state ‘all-new’ houseguests in its press release #BB28.”
As the post literally highlighted, each of the seasons contains the words “all-new Houseguests” or “all-new group of Houseguests.” The exception is the release for Season 28, which just reads, “This season ushers in a landmark summer as Houseguests enter the iconic Big Brother house, with unexpected moments, and a season packed with twists and turns.”
Fans Have Been Sharing Quite A Few Clues, Including A Post From Julie Chen Moonves Herself
The teaser trailer for the new season also featured Houseguest from the past few seasons. Normally, these trailers are made up of the previous season’s contestants.
Thanks to this, fans believe that the Houseguests will be made up of contestants from Seasons 23 to 27. Similar to the press releases, unlike previous trailers, this teaser did not state there would be “all-new group of Houseguests.”

Finally, as the outlet noted, an Instagram share from host Julie Chen Moonves also had fans wondering if they are getting another “All-Stars” season. As she shared, “Who’s ready? MARK YOUR CALENDARS !! What are your favorite things from past seasons that you’d love to see in #BB28.” In other words, some fans think this season will have nostalgia in mind.
Of course, fans will have to wait until it’s close to the season’s premiere if this will be the case or not. That said, some have been sharing their speculations on social media. Of course, some had reasons to believe things might not be as they appear. Some comments included:
- “This is so typical of my bb fandom. We’re so back.”
- “Interesting but also might mean nothing since rachel came back for 27.”
- “I think it’s Villain Season that’s why.”
- “I didn’t realize that Rachel was a new houseguest!…”
- “Everyone complains when it’s not an all new cast then complain that they only cast wanna be influencers who don’t make moves. I am personally looking forward to some vets returning makes for better gameplay.”
- “Oh let the theories begin…..it’s really summer.”
