Based on his children’s book of the same name, Oscar Nominee and Honorary Palme D’Or winner John Travolta makes his directorial debut with Propeller One-Way Night Coach, set around the golden age of aviation as a young man sets off across the country for Hollywood, becoming the trip of a lifetime.
The film comes to Apple TV fresh from its world premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, and you can watch interviews with Travolta and young stars Clark Shotwell and Ella Beau Travolta as they talk about the film, Cannes, flying, Travolta on his directorial debut and much more.
On the film, Travolta told Apple:
“Prior to my first experience in an airliner, I only had the promise of flight with beautiful toys which were excellent replicas of what the future could bring. My first flight brought it to fruition, and I was off and flying. Although I hadn’t thought about a film adaptation when I wrote my novella, “Propeller One-Way Night Coach” in 1997, it worked out to be so organically visual because my memories were so vivid. It just became natural to make the film version.”
