A lot of people have been wondering, “What is going on in the world of Doctor Who?‘ since the most recent episode dropped last year, and it appears, we might soon have an answer!
Last we saw, Ncuti Gatwa unexpectedly regenerated into Billie Piper, leaving a lot of people confused about its meaning. Some people thought that meant Doctor Who was doomed, but other people, in a small minority, thought it might warrant an exciting future. Since then, speculation has been high regarding what the future holds, with some people thinking this year’s Christmas special might get either delayed or scrapped. These rumours weren’t helped by the fact that no one was commenting on it!
That has now changed. Russell T Davies, current top dog at Doctor Who, has commented on the matters during an interview with Gary Davies (no relation) on BBC Radio 2. Previously, David Tennant had returned for a few episodes, replacing Jodie Whittaker, but was regenerated into Gatwa after his brief return.
“You will get an announcement…there’s a press release lumbering through the BBC, which, as you know, is like the Jurassic period. 57 people have to sign off on every single word. So, I promise you in about a week or two weeks, there will be some sort of press release.”
