Maurice Benard Has Been Part Of General Hospital Since 1993
As an actor, Benard is best known for portraying Sonny Corinthos on General Hospital. He joined the soap in 1993, having previously played Nico Kelly on All My Children.
Initially, the character was only supposed to appear for a few months. However, Benard has continued to play the character over the years. He has even reprised the roles in various spin-offs, such as Port Charles.
While viewers have continued to see Sonny on the soap, the mob kingpin appears to be staying on the sidelines as of late. While he still gets involved with plots, it’s usually his minions who take direct action.
