Valerie Bertinelli recently made an appearance on Today to promote a new project. However, the star ended up being a bit apologetic after accidentally having a few slips of the tongue during the appearance. The star also had a way of making it up to her hosts.
Valerie Bertinelli Was Promoting A New Lifetime Movie During Her Appearance On Today
Bertinelli is known to many for her work as an actress, such as on shows like One Day at a Time, Touched by an Angel, and Hot in Cleveland. She is also known for her work with various Food Network programs.
Bertinelli recently appeared on Today‘s fourth hour to promote her new Lifetime movie, Love, Again. In the film, she plays a woman who makes a new connection after her husband gets diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s.
During the appearance, Jenna Bush Hager asked Bertinelli about her own past with grief. She noted, “You have talked about grief, your own grief, losing people you loved. Did you bring any of that into the role? Was it therapeutic?”
The actress replied, “I did. It was incredibly therapeutic because I had been holding on to a lot of this grief that I had just experienced over the last few years, even. As anybody who’s ever been through it, there’s not a lot of places to put it sometimes, and you just have to carry on and just put your smile on your face and go do your job. And sometimes, you just want to fall apart, and I think you can see that happen to Caroline in this movie, where she’s just trying to hold it together.”
Bertinelli Also Had A Chance To Show Off Her Cooking Skills On The Show
It was then when Bertinelli’s language began to become more colorful. She shared, “I’m one of those people that no matter what I’m going through, I will put that happy face on so that I don’t bring my s*** to other people…bring my stuff to other people.” Realizing this, the actress apologized, but Jenna reassured her, saying this was really just a chat among “girlfriends.”
However, Bertinelli had another slip of the tongue when asked about her love life. Noting that she misses having a partner at times, she shared, “There’s another part of me that’s like, ‘I am so independent, and I can do everything on my own, so leave me the f*** alone.’”
Jenna pointed this out, causing Bertinelli to apologize, saying, “Geeze Louise! I’ll never be invited back again! I’m sorry! God, what is wrong with me?” She joked, “It’s the 66-year-old disease where you just don’t care what comes out of your mouth. I apologize to everybody out there. I’m sorry.” However, the actress was already sticking around to help with a cooking segment, where she hoped to redeem herself. She assured that, “I’ll make it all up to you,” with her cooking, especially with her being a Food Network alum.
