Dancing with the Stars is set to return with a new season. Not only is Ciara Miller already set to hit the stage this season, but she also already teased her choice of dance partner: Val Chmerkovskiy. Since then, she has gotten a response from the dancer himself.
Val Chmerkovskiy Responded To Ciara Miller’s Comments While Attending A Recent Gala
Chmerkovskiy first joined Dancing with the Stars during its second season. In 2011, he was promoted to a pro.
Over the years, Chmerkovskiy has won multiple seasons alongside a number of stars. These include Rumer Willis, Laurie Hernandez, and Xochitl Gomez.
Thanks to this, Chmerkovskiy has some fans, especially among other stars who’d like to join the show. Recently, Ciara Miller, known for appearing on Bravo’s Summer House, has eyed him as a partner after she was cast in Season 35 of Dancing with the Stars.
During the Live From E! Stream: Met Gala at The Pierre Hotel, Miller shared, “I’ve been campaigning for Val. I don’t know if they hear me, but yeah, sending out some emails, putting my word in. We’ll see where everyone wants to place me.”
Since then, it turns out that at least one figure has heard Miller’s wish. This was Chmerkovskiy himself. While attending the 33rd Annual Race to Erase MS Gala on June 5 with in a joint interview with his wife, Jenna Johnson, he gave his own response. Val shared, “First of all, I’m so humbled because I saw the Ciara video and there are things that I’m not allowed to disclose at this point in the off-season. So, I felt bad. I wanted to say thank you because what a huge compliment it is to be shouted out that way.”
Another Dancer Also Teased Wanting To Dance With Ciara & They Were Already Close To The Story
Ultimately, while grateful, Chmerkovskiy maintained that it ultimately wasn’t his decision on who he gets paired with. He added, “So, thank you. I am not the one in charge of casting.”
For her part, Jenna, who joined the dance competition show in 2014, also thought it would be a good match. However, if she had things her way, she wouldn’t be against being paired with Ciara herself.
Jenna was also interested in dancing with Irish television personality Maura Higgins, who was also tapped for the season. She shared, “I wanna dance with one of them, honestly. Whichever one, please.”
In addition, Savannah Bananas second baseman Jackson Olson is also attached to the season. Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough are expected to return as hosts, with Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli returning as judges.
