    National Hockey League player Milan Lucic of Vancouver, British Columbia retired at the age of 38 on Monday according to NDTV Sports Desk. Lucic played 17 seasons as a left winger in the National Hockey League with four franchises.

    Lucic played nine seasons in two different stints with the Boston Bruins. He originally played eight consecutive seasons with the Bruins from 2007 to 2015, one season with the Los Angeles Kings in 2015-16, three seasons with the Edmonton Oilers from 2016 to 2019, and four seasons with the Calgary Flames from 2019 to 2023. Lucic then played his final NHL season with the Bruins in 2023-24.

    In 1177 games, Lucic had 233 goals and 353 assists for 586 points. He was a +59 with 1301 penalty minutes, 116 power-play points, 36 game winning goals, three hat tricks, 1798 shots on goal, 289 faceoff wins, 343 blocked shots 3265 hits, 393 takeaways and 644 giveaways.

    During the 2011 playoffs, Lucic won a Stanley Cup with the Bruins. In 25 games, Lucic had five goals and seven assists for 12 points. He was a +11 with 63 penalty minutes and one power-play goal. He had 56 shots on goal, three faceoff wins, 17 blocked shots, 65 hits, 14 takeaways, and 27 giveaways.

    Lucic won a Memorial Cup with the Vancouver Giants in 2007. On the international scene, Lucic won a gold medal for Canada at the 2023 International Ice Hockey Federation World Men’s Hockey Championships in Tampere, Finland.
