Good Morning America viewers tune in to get the daily news from Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Michael Strahan. The anchors often take days off. However, Robin Roberts and Michael Strahan have been MIA a lot lately. GMA fans are worried about their absences. Keep reading to find out what’s going on.
Inside Robin Roberts’ Recent GMA Departures
Robin Roberts missed a few episodes of GMA at the end of May. But she had a good reason. She traveled to South Africa with Sherri Shepherd and Dondré T. Whitfield to film a Lifetime project. Robin Roberts’ wife, Amber Laign, tagged along as well.
Sherri Shepherd and Dondré T. Whitfield star in Angel in the Rubble, a true story of the last survivor rescued after the Twin Towers collapsed. Transit worker Genelle Guzman-McMillan was the last person found alive in the rubble. The movie airs in September, which marks 25 years since the tragedy.
Robin Roberts returned to GMA after her South Africa trip but now she’s gone again. But this time, she didn’t reveal many details. “On the road again with Glam Fam! Even though we can’t reveal where we are it’s not going to stop us from sharing with you a lil #mondaymotivation,” she wrote on social media earlier this week. It seems she’s on assignment for the ABC news program.
Michael Strahan MIA
It was ten years ago last month that Michael Strahan appeared on LIVE with Kelly and Michael for the last time. He started full-time at GMA a few months later. His shocking exit reportedly caused chaos backstage at LIVE and a long-running feud with Kelly Ripa.

He settled in nicely at Good Morning America. The former NFL player recently celebrated a huge milestone with his co-hosts. But he hasn’t appeared on the show since Friday, June 5. He hasn’t shared the reason for his absence. He has, however, been posting on Instagram about the New York Knicks.
The NBA team is just one game away from winning its first NBA Championship in 53 years. Game 5 against the San Antonio Spurs is on Saturday, June 13, in San Antonio, Texas. The Knicks have brought New York City together. Even President Trump attended Game 3 of the Finals.
Michael Strahan showed his support by walking his dogs with orange and blue leashes, the official colors of the New York Knicks. “Enzo and Zuma show who they’re rooting for tonight!! Let’s Go Knicks,” he captioned the post ahead of Game 4.
Michael Strahan’s absence hasn’t been explained, but he likely won’t be gone long. However, fans are worried because rumors swirl constantly that he’s ready to retire from the morning program amid all his other jobs. He hosts The $100,000 Pyramid and NFL on FOX during football season. Tell us your thoughts on his absence in the comments.
