This Is Poly is only a few episodes in, but it has amassed a new fanbase, and people have become hooked. Love After Lockup Launched This Is Poly
When the new season of Love After Lockup premiered on May 29th, 2026, fans were ready and raring to go. Then, following the show was a new series called This Is Poly. It took viewers behind the scenes of polyamorous relationships, giving an insider look at all of the various dynamics. The “couples” were navigating family life, jealousy, raising kids, and recruiting more for their pods. Yet, some had no idea how hooked they would become on TIP and how addictive it could be. In fact, one viewer claimed that WeTV “tricked” them into watching the new series.
They had this to say about the hot new series:
- I Feel Tricked. I feel like they kind of derailed the premiere and beginning of the new season with the This is Poly thing. She was in jail 2 months and they had a relationship before.
That was in reference to Love After Lockup throuple Nita, Trent, and Kami. Nita was in jail for 60 days due to a DUI, so they qualified for LAL. Yet, that also made them perfect for TIP, as they had been living in a poly relationship for some time. So, one show was a launching pad for the other. At the same time, there is another man on LAL, Damond, who has two girlfriends, Goddess and Bonita. They know of each other, and per Merrypants, have begun following each other on social media.
This has led fans to wonder if he is simply auditioning for This Is Poly. The OP, who claimed they were “tricked” into watching, added this:
- It was confusing and NOW we hear Damon talking about he wants poly when he gets out (which I feel like production fed him to say) will they be on there too?
So Much Emotion Regarding Polyamory
As controversial as This Is Poly can be, again, viewers cannot look away. They have become obsessed with the trainwreck and are not denying it. One show addiction led right into another, and here they are:
- They got me hooked on that stupid a** show too lol I love trainwreck reality tv
- How i originally got started with Vanderpump rules.. they did a weird segment on housewives and crossed that show to the other. It is tricky..& can work darn it.
One follower noted that Damond, GG, and Bonita were on the original cast list for This Is Poly. Therefore, they may show up at some point, which would make this a true spinoff.
