Savannah Guthrie was recently absent from the Today show. However, one of her co-stars got to see her. This was Carson Daly, who got a visit from her on the set of The Voice.
Craig Melvin Recently Explained Why Savannah Guthrie Was Absent From A Recent Episode Of Today
Guthrie first joined Today as a co-host on the show’s third hour in 2011. By the following year, she was promoted to the show’s main co-anchor.
Recently, Guthrie stepped away from the show amid the disappearance of her mother, Nancy, back in February. She has since returned to the show this past April.
Guthrie was absent from Today on the recent June 17 episode. Her co-star, Craig Melvin, explained that Guthrie was away because she was “starting production meetings on the Wordle game show, coming to NBC this fall.”
Taking to her Instagram Story, Guthrie shared a few behind-the-scenes images of the upcoming show. Around this time, she also shared that, in between production meetings, she took time to pay Daly a visit on The Voice‘s set. As she wrote, “When in LA, see your bestie @carsondaly,” complete with a photo of them alongside each other.

This wasn’t the only share Guthrie had during her visit to The Voice‘s set. In another photo, she could be seen sitting in on the coaches’ famous spinning chairs. She captioned this post, “In @carsondaly’s house.”
Carson Daly joined Today in 2013 as a social media correspondent, eventually becoming a co-host. Meanwhile, he’s been the host of The Voice since 2011.

The Voice recently wrapped up Season 29 this past April. Season 30 is expected to come out this upcoming September, with the show’s traditional fall cycle, but an exact date has not yet been announced. Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah, and Riley Green are expected to serve as the season’s coaches, with Carson Daly returning as host.
Meanwhile, news came out this past October that Guthrie was set to host the upcoming game show, Wordle, based on the New York Times online game of the same name. Jimmy Fallon, who serves as an executive producer, stopped by Today back in May to promote the show, as well as confirm Guthrie’s hosting job. At the time, she shared, “It’s fun how they’ve put it together, too. It’s, like, super-fast-paced and fun, and it’s a great family game. I love a game and a show that you can watch with your kids, and it’s fun, and you feel like they’re learning something.”
