Deadline has reported that Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) will return as a guest star in season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection. Ritter’s character Mia, aka Lady Vengeance, a serial killer by night and sommelier by day, was killed off in episode 5 ‘Murder Horny’. Dexter has famously brought characters back from the dead, but there is no word yet on how Ritter will return – dead or alive.
Ritter joins the previously announced Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction), who will be reprising her character, Charley. Also returning are Jack Alcott, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Sarif, Dominic Fumusa, Desmond Harrington, and James Remar.
The new season also includes newcomers Brian Cox (Succession) as The New York Ripper, Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) as The Five Borough Killer, and Bokeem Woodbine as Capt. Mixon and Nona Parker Johnson as Fiona Mixon. Michael C. Hall returns as the titular Dexter Morgan, marking his 20th year portraying the notorious serial killer.
Dexter: Resurrection is executive-produced by Emmy-nominated Clyde Phillips, who also serves as showrunner, alongside Hall, Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns. Additional executive producers include John Goldwyn and Sara Colleton, along with Veronica West, Kirsa Rein, Tanner Bean and Katrina Mathewson. It is distributed by Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios.
Season one of Dexter: Resurrection is available to watch on Paramount+ only with the Paramount+ Premium Plan. The final episode of season 1 saw Dexter back on his yacht after having dumped yet another body into the New York harbour, so it’ll be interesting to see what’s next for television’s most beloved serial killer. A description for the second season is yet to be announced.
Ritter is repped by CAA, Kyle Luker at Industry Entertainment, Steve Caserta at Principal Entertainment, and Brecheen Feldman Breimer Silver & Thompson.
