The Kansas City Chiefs’ star player and the iconic musician said their vows at Madison Square Garden on July 3 in an intimate ceremony surrounded by friends, family, and other A-list celebrities.
In addition to wearing Taylor Swift’s merch with pride, Travis Kelce’s mom also gushed about the breathtaking ceremony. The newlyweds’ love story kickstarted after the athlete’s failed attempt to give the singer a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it at her “Eras” Tour in July 2023.
Travis’s mom, Donna, fed eyes with her fashion statement as an official Swiftie as she stepped out shortly after the wedding. The singer’s new mother-in-law wore an “Eldest Daughter” hat as she made her way through the airport, leaving New York City on Sunday.
The brightly colored teal hat Donna wore had the reference to Swift’s 2025 song of the same name boldly written in orange. Wearing the merchandise and a bright smile, Donna rolled her luggage through the airport alongside her brother Don, as photos were uploaded by The Daily Mail.
This fashion statement is just another sign of how the iconic singer has been embraced with open arms by her husband’s family.
Donna Kelce Says The Wedding Was ‘Magical’
Donna had just one word to describe her son’s wedding to the popular singer, which took place last weekend at Madison Square Garden.
When asked about the wedding the next day while attending the Macys’ 50th Fourth of July Celebration in NYC, the proud mom and mom-in-law made sure to respect the couple’s privacy in her answer, as shared on Macy’s Instagram.
“I really can’t say a heck of a lot except it was magical, man, magical,” she simply responded. Details of the nuptials were shrouded in secrecy since news of the lovers’ engagement made headlines, with scant details leaking to the press.
A source told news outlets that the couple stuck with a forest-themed look for their decor with ferns and trees. “It looked like a forest,” the insider noted, adding that all the seats in the venue were covered in white.

July looks extra special for the newlyweds as this week, three years ago marked the start of something new Travis and Swift were oblivious to at the time. The athlete set his eyes on Swift at her Kansas City Eras Tour concert on July 8, 2023, and was determined to pursue a connection with her.
Travis reportedly tried to meet the Grammy Winner later that evening with a friendship bracelet that contained his phone number; however, his attempt at handing her the jewelry went down the drain. Giving up was not in Travis’ books as he publicly declared his interest in the musician on his “New Heights” podcast later that month.
The beginning of their relationship was met with tests of perseverance as Swift was at her professional peak at the time, traveling around the world for her sold-out stadium shows.
Despite their busy and hectic schedules, Travis flew in to support her performances, and she showed up at his games. Their love and strong bond radiated through, bringing them to the point where they said, “I do.”

PEOPLE shared that Swift walked down the aisle to a stage where she and her now-husband read their “20-minute” vows “from gold books.” The nuptials took place in the presence of 1000 guests, including their friends and colleagues.
Certain A-listers were in attendance, including Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Sabrina Carpenter, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Bradley Cooper, and Dakota Johnson, to mention but a few.
An intricate detail which showed that much thought was put into the ceremony was that the pair provided guests with embroidered handkerchiefs for any emotional moments throughout the evening. According to insiders, the vow exchange was an emotional scene which brought the couple to tears.
“After the ceremony, Taylor’s mom invited everyone into the reception room where a stage was set up,” the source also shared before revealing that Paul McCartney performed The Beatles’ beloved hit “I Want to Hold Your Hand” and Stevie Nicks was also on the lineup of A-list performers.
For food, there were food stations at the reception with Italian cuisine, sushi, and passed trays as well as bars for drinks. There were no bridesmaids at the wedding officiated by Adam Sandler; instead, Swift’s brother Austin acted as her ‘man of honor’, and Travis’s brother Jason was the best man.
Who Caught The Singer’s Bouquet?
The “Blank Space” singer threw her bouquet as per tradition, and it landed in the hands of a relative of the Kansas City Chiefs. Trey Smith attended the star-studded ceremony with his older sister, Ashley, who went home all smiles with Swift’s bouquet.
Ashley uploaded a series of photographs to social media, including snaps of her outfit for the event and two images of the flowers, of which a good portion was missing, seemingly from the struggle to catch it. The Blast reported that the bouquet appeared to include pale pink flowers, Sweet Pea, and Queen Anne’s Lace.
“Celebrated an Enchanting Love S(T&T)ory. And somehow…I ended up catching Tay Tay’s bouquet,” Ashley captioned her Instagram post, which included an image of her lying on the bed with the flowers by her head and another mirror selfie featuring the flowers as well.
Ashley ended her post with a congratulatory message for the newlyweds, adding, “So here’s to believing it’s bringing a lifetime of love, luck, and laughter my way.”
No doubt Travis Kelce’s mom is happy to have Taylor Swift officially in the family!
