The actress raved about how much has changed since she got married to her singer partner, noting that she has found the riskier side of life much easier to navigate.
Anya Taylor-Joy and Malcolm McRae got married in an elaborate ceremony in Venice nearly three years ago after they earlier sealed the deal in an intimate ceremony in April 2022.
The media personality poured out all her heart in an interview with Elle UK, describing McRae as a best friend whom she has an unquantifiable amount of love and admiration for.
She expressed that having him by her side doing life together has given her a sense of security that she never imagined, that was never in the plan. The movie star emphasized:
“Now that I have it, I just feel emboldened to take more risks because I know I’ve got something really nutritive and solid and healthy and so f-cking fun.”
She revealed that being with the singer meant spending all her days laughing heartily, and they have maintained a healthy routine of constantly checking on each other every morning amid their busy schedules. Taylor-Joy added that when the day wraps up, they stay stocked on all their adventures over a phone call too.

Taylor-Joy, who has taken some time off social media to focus on her mental health, praised that decision as the best thing she has done for herself, especially when the cruel comments about her looks got unbearable.
Now that she is in her third decade, the actress is optimistic and intentional about embracing that boldness she has found. According to her, she enjoys being in situations where she makes miserable places filled with joy, adding that there is no fun in the middle ground; staying in the margin is where the fun is.
Recalling her mother’s stance on how she feels about the middle ground, the actress agreed it was about finding balance all along, but her appetite for life on the fast lane is still very much intact. In her words:
“Having been in some really dark places, I now have such an appreciation for it all. What a privilege it is to be exhausted by the thing that you love!”

The duo began their relationship in 2021 after meeting at a music studio, and in the same year, she confirmed she was seeing someone days after her Golden Globe win. A few weeks later, they were pictured kissing in New York City, becoming Instagram official right before the year ran out.
As shared by PEOPLE, McRae had revealed that he wrote a song just two days after meeting Taylor-Joy. McRae’s ability to do that is not far-fetched, as he plays guitar, piano, and sings in a two-person rock band called “More” with Kane Ritchotte, a former member of Portugal The Man.
Since the relationship began, Taylor-Joy and the singer have constantly shared pictures of each other on their social media, including Valentine’s Day celebrations and anniversaries.
Last year, they celebrated three years of being married to each other with gushing tributes and pictures from their wedding day. Taylor-Joy and her beau also share the same birthdays, and she has contributed as a creative on one of her husband’s songs, “Whose Side You’re On.”
