Khloé Kardashian pulled up some family photos on Wednesday and couldn’t keep them to herself.
The pictures came from an iFLY outing a few weeks earlier. Khloé and her sister Kim Kardashian brought their kids to the indoor skydiving facility for the first time. iFLY uses a vertical wind tunnel to simulate the sensation of freefall. Certified instructors guide participants through the basics, and most first-timers are up and floating within minutes. For kids, it tends to be an instant highlight. They’re usually still talking about it on the car ride home.
On Instagram, Khloé shared what prompted her to post: “I was looking through photos this morning, and these instantly made my heart happy. There’s something so contagious about children smiling, and I think we could all use a few more smiles right now, so I wanted to share these.”
She was equally warm about how the kids handled themselves. “I was so proud of each of them for being brave and trying something new,” she wrote. The pride in those words was easy to feel.
It’s a sweet detail. Getting kids to try something with no frame of reference for it isn’t always straightforward. They hear “indoor skydiving” and don’t always picture what it means. The reality tends to land quickly. Something about standing in front of the tunnel in full gear makes it real. A wind tunnel doesn’t look like it should work. Floating on a column of rushing air is a completely unfamiliar sensation. Stepping into that for the first time takes some nerve. For kids doing it alongside cousins and siblings, the group energy probably helped a lot. By the sound of Khloé’s caption, every one of them came through smiling.
iFLY has more than 100 locations across the U.S., making it one of the more widely available indoor skydiving experiences around. Sessions are designed to work for a broad age range, including younger kids. Instructors pace things to keep the experience fun rather than overwhelming. The gear goes on. The air starts. Most people forget to be nervous within the first few seconds.
Khloé has two kids: daughter True Thompson, 8, and son Tatum Thompson, 3. Kim has four children with ex Kanye West. The group ranges from around 7 to 13 in age. Getting that whole crew suited up and into the air was probably its own kind of adventure.
