Vin Diesel is gearing up for what appears to be an emotional climax to the upcoming final installment of the Fast & Furious franchise.

Titled “Fast Forever,” the fan favorite revealed in a recent social media post that the script is the best he has read in decades and teased that it ties back to the original “The Fast and the Furious,” which also starred the late Paul Walker.

Diesel has continued to honor Walker over the years as a theatrical re-release of the 2001 film prepares to hit theaters later this month.

Vin Diesel cannot contain his excitement for what lies ahead in “Fast Forever,” which is set to hit theaters on March 17, 2028.

The actor and producer took to social media to share his reaction after reading the screenplay for the franchise’s final installment, teasing that it exceeds expectations and will especially resonate with fans who watched the original film.

“You have no idea,” Diesel wrote in the caption alongside a trailer for the upcoming theatrical re-release of “The Fast and the Furious.” “When March 17th 2028 comes… you will thank God you got to see the First one in theaters this summer.”

“I just read the ‘Fast Forever’ script by [Michael Lesslie]. It is the best script I have read in decades,” he added. “I am still crying…”

The original “The Fast and the Furious” returns to theaters on August 21, marking the film’s 25th anniversary.

Released in 2001, the movie starred Diesel alongside Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Rick Yune, and Chad Lindberg. It launched what would become a global franchise and earned more than $207 million at the worldwide box office.

Plot details for “Fast Forever” remain under wraps. However, “Fast X” ended on a major cliffhanger as Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa) pursued revenge for his father’s death, leaving Dominic Toretto’s father figure, family, and closest allies in grave danger.

According to Variety, the film will be directed by Louis Leterrier, known for “The Transporter” and “The Incredible Hulk,” with Michael Lesslie, whose credits include “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” and “Assassin’s Creed,” penning the screenplay.

How ‘Fast & Furious’ Became A Global Phenomenon

What began as a street-racing crime thriller in 2001 has grown into a multi-billion-dollar global action franchise built around one central theme: family, led by Diesel’s Dominic Toretto.

As the series expanded, several Hollywood stars joined the cast, including Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs in “Fast Five,” Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw in “Fast & Furious 6” before returning in “Furious 7,” and Charlize Theron as Cipher in “The Fate of the Furious.”

Other fan favorites include Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce, Ludacris as Tej Parker, Gal Gadot as Gisele Yashar, and John Cena as Jakob Toretto, each helping transform the franchise into one of Hollywood’s biggest ensemble action series.

Diesel’s emotional reaction to the “Fast Forever” script has fueled speculation that the franchise finale could honor both its long-running characters and the legacy of Paul Walker.

Walker died at age 40 before the release of “Furious 7.” His brothers helped complete his remaining scenes, culminating in the memorable ending where Brian O’Conner and Dominic Toretto part ways before Brian drives into the distance.

Speaking to fans at FuelFest last year, Diesel revealed that one of the conditions he gave Universal Pictures for making the final film was reuniting Dom and Brian O’Conner.

He also previously told Total Film that he “couldn’t imagine this saga ending without truly saying goodbye to Brian O’Conner.”

The “Chronicles of Riddick” star regularly shares heartfelt tributes to Walker on the anniversary of the actor’s November 2013 death.

Last year, marking the 12th anniversary, Diesel reflected on his daughter Pauline, who was named in Walker’s honor. Although she never met him, he wrote, “When I call her name, I know you’re near.”

Sharing a behind-the-scenes photo of the pair, Diesel said he still clings to the smallest memories of Walker, including “that grin” that “would irritate me.”

“I’d give anything to be irritated by you one more time,” he wrote, per USA Today. He also recalled seeing Walker’s mother over the summer.

“When your mom saw me this summer, she looked right through me… Like she was searching for you,” Diesel wrote. “Like somehow, through my eyes, she could still find her son. She was right, you know. You were always my other half. I couldn’t have made it without your family’s love.”
