On Today, the anchors have weighed in on a number of current events. However, they have also shared a lot about their own personal lives with fans. During one recent episode, one of the show’s hosts revealed big news about their growing family.
A Today Segment On Summer Rest & Recovery Ended With A Big Announcement
On July 31, viewers were recently treated to a special food segment. As summer is winding down, the hosts talked about resting and recovery as Autumn rolls around the corner.
The segment offered all sorts of exercise and nutrition tips. This came from Today‘s fitness contributor Stephanie Mansour and nutrition-and-health expert Joy Bauer share a plan to do just that, complete with an August menu.
However, the biggest takeaway from the moment was an announcement that Bauer made towards the end. After Craig noted that she had an announcement to make, Joy shared, “I’m going to be a grandma.”
Bauer continued, noting that she was expecting more than one bundle of joy. She explained, “I feel like I’ve waited my entire life to get into this club. My daughter, Jesse, is pregnant, and my son Jason as well. My new little sous chef is on the way.”
Joy’s co-stars even had a present for her. It was a onesie that bore the Today logo. Melvin noted, “I love this… Start Today, baby.”
Joy Bauer Later Called On Her Social Media Followers For Help With A Big Decision
Bauer started her official role as the resident nutrition and health expert for Today back in 2006. She is married to Ian Bauer and they share three children: Jesse, Cole, and Ayden.
Bauer also shared the moment with fans and followers on social media. As she wrote in a caption, “My little sous chef is on the way!! Already dreaming about the step stool, tiny apron, and amazing messes we will make together. Ahhhhh.” She also called on fans for their help with a special decision. As she wrote, “Now help me pick my grandma name.”
Taking to the comments, followers shared their congratulations with the expectant grandmother. Naturally, many also shared their ideas on a “name.” Some comments included:
