After she finishes this residency, she will wrap up her talk show as well as coach Season 30 of The Voice. However, the mother of two just released a new single, “I’d be Lyin.’” With that, there is a big story behind it, and it will blow fans away. Kelly recently opened up about it during her August 8th show and shared how it revolved around having to break up twice with the same person.
Yes, this actually happened to Kelly, although it is widely known that she was not a big player before marrying Brandon Blackstock. Yet, it seems like there is much more to the 44-year-old than many may have believed. While introducing the song, Kelly shared what inspired the tune:
“I swear to God, I’ve had to break up with someone twice. That’s a real story. That’s true. And it was hard both times. You feel like a piece of s–t both times, P.S. And I looked at this person and they were like, ‘What do you mean?’ I was like, ‘What do you mean? We were there. We were both there. What the f–k did you hear? Like, it was already hard enough on both of us. Why are we doing it again? Like, it’s crazy.”
Aside from her ex-husband, who passed away in 2025 from cancer, Kelly Clarkson also dated Ryan Key, Graham Colton, and Justin Guarini. It could be about any of them, but that detail she is keeping under lock and key. As of now, Kelly is staying single and likes it that way.
