Ever since Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple decided to get married, the couple has seemed happy, in love, and taking things slow. However, now Chock has made an announcement that may change things. Keep reading to find out what he said.
Chock Chapple & Joan Vassos Find Everlasting Love
Chock and Joan really made a name for themselves when they got engaged on the first Golden Bachelorette. This happened back in 2024. Joan was originally a contestant on The Golden Bachelor; however, she chose to leave for personal reasons. That’s when she took on the leading role, ultimately meeting the love of her life. Both Chock and Joan experienced major losses, with Joan’s husband dying and Chock’s partner of nine years also passing away.
Despite their sadness, they found each other through the show, and Chock ended up proposing to Joan in Bora Bora. Of course, she said yes.
Since then, the couple has laid low with no real drama surrounding them. Fans continue to wonder when they will officially get married. For now, they are taking things at their own pace.
Chock’s Shocking Announcement
This week, Chock took to social media to share an announcement about his health. Apparently, he had to have his prostate removed last week.
He shared that after leaving the show, Chock learned he had an elevated PSA. While they decided to monitor for a while, it continued to rise. This led to the removal, which he says will solve a lot of the problem.
“Joan’s here in Wichita taking care of me, so here’s a life update. Elevated PSA. Biopsy, MRI, another biopsy. Turned aggressive. Last Wednesday I had my prostate removed. Lost my mother to cancer. I know what’s at stake. My son asked how much time I wanted with my grandkids, and that made the decision easy. Get it removed. Be around. For them. For Joan, for the rest of her life. Guys, get tested. Have your PSA checked. Early is everything. Trip to Europe is still on for the end of August. Cleared to travel, and I’m ready!” he writes in the caption to the video.
Now, he’s on the road to recovery, which he says “has been a little rough.” He explains that he has had several surgeries, but describes this one as unique.
But of course, overall, he says that he’s glad that he went through with it. Luckily, he has Joan around to take care of him. Apparently, she’s been cooking and cleaning for him non-stop, making his recovery as smooth as she can.
