News has come out that the Miss USA pageant has been pulled from The CW Network this year. This news notably came out a week before the pageant was set to air on the network. This also comes out in spite of previous reports that the network had a three-year deal in place.
Miss USA Has Been Airing On Television Since 1963, With The Pageant Starting Over A Decade Earlier
Miss USA is a beauty pageant that has been held every year since 1952. The pageant’s goal is to find the U.S. candidate for Miss Universe.
The annual event first aired on television in 1963, initially airing on CBS. In 2023, Miss USA then made its debut on The CW Network.
According to recent reports, however, the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants were pulled from The CW. This notably took place just one week before the competitions were set to take place.
The Miss USA organization shared the news during an Instagram Story, noting that the pageant would no longer be broadcast live on the network. The reason cited was “a contractual issue” with “production arrangements that could not be resolved within the necessary time frame.”
Miss USA Released A Statement Over The Story During An Instagram Story
The statement suggested that the pageant might return to the network in the future. As the organization continued, “While The CW will not be carrying a live broadcast of Miss USA this year, we are grateful for our relationship with the network and remain open to opportunities to work together in the future.”
The statement concluded, “We are excited to bring Miss USA to audiences everywhere and appreciate your continued support. For viewing information and updates, please visit our official website.”

As shared by People, a spokesperson for The CW Network shared, “After careful consideration and conversations with the Miss USA Organization, The CW Network has decided to forego next week’s broadcasts of the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants. We wish the organization and all of this year’s contestants well in the competition.”
Last year’s Miss USA content marked the first time that the pageant hadn’t been shown live on broadcast TV since 1965. At the time, the pageant streamed on Queen Beauty Network. This network will also air the pageant again this year, from August 24 to 27. The year prior, The CW had also shown the pageant on its channels previously agreeing to a three-year deal with former Miss USA CEO Laylah Rose.
