Slayyyter has covered Hole’s “Violet” for Australian radio station triple j.
In conversation about the cover, she opened up about how much Live Through This meant to her back in high school. She recalled finding music through Tumblr as a teen, seeing riot grrrl edits, and discovering Hole and Courtney Love.

“I became so obsessed with the way she would perform and the way she would tell the crowd to fuck off,” she says to triple j. “I loved everything about it. I feel like I had never experienced music like that. When you’re a teenager, you go through your angsty periods, and it would help me get my anger out of my system to listen to that music and scream it in my bedroom. It felt like a full-circle thing to cover.”
Slayyyter recently released “brand new chanel$,” a sister track to “BEAT UP CHANEL$” from this year’s WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA. During her interview with triple j, she alluded to an upcoming “inverse album,” inspired by events that have followed since its release, that will include “flipped” versions of songs that came before it.
