Team Canada defeated Team Australia 4-0 on Saturday at the 2026 Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. This was a knockout game for Canada as they were beaten 7-0 by South Korea in their opening game of the tournament on Wednesday.
Canada was represented by Little Mountain Little League in Vancouver, British Columbia. The two Canadian stars were pitcher Felix Hoyano and designated hitter Sha Hassko. Hoyano pitched five and two third brilliant innings. He only gave up one hit and had nine strikeouts compared to zero walks. Of his 70 pitches, 51 were strikes. Hassko hit a three run home run in the top of the sixth inning which scored Hoyano and shortstop Cruz Krpan.
With the win, Canada next plays Panama on Monday. Panama also lost their first game as they were beaten 6-4 by Nicaragua on Friday.
The 4-0 Canadian win was the same score from the championship final of the 2026 Canadian Little League Baseball Championship. On August 12, Little Mountain Little League defeated Ottawa West Little League in Place Bay, Nova Scotia. It was the third time in the last five years that Little Mountain Little League won the Canadian Little League Baseball Championship. They also beat Moose Jaw Little League 9-4 in Calgary, Alberta in 2022 and Layritz Little League 8-0 in Victoria, British Columbia in 2025.
