News has come out that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are making their return to the United Kingdom. With this, there has been talk of Meghan returning to television. According to one insider, one television gig for the Duchess of Sussex could come with a large paycheck. However, the story could already have a caveat.
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Are Not Expected To Return To Royal Duties, Having Previously Stepped Away From This Role
Reports previously came out that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are planning to relocate to a private, non-royal residence outside London. Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are also said to be enrolled at a British school.
The couple, who previously stepped away from their royal duties, aren’t expected to resume these duties and will continue to remain non-working members of the royal family. However, stories suggest that Markle will make a return to another field.
Before her marriage to Harry, Markle worked as an actress. Notably, she played the part of Rachel Zane for seven seasons on Suits. Markle previously announced her retirement from acting around the time of her engagement to Harry.
Recently, with the move to the United Kingdom, sources previously shared that Markle was being eyed for an appearance on Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series, The Gentlemen. The show was previously renewed for a second season, which is set to make its debut this September.
One Source Claimed, However, That Markle’s Consideration For The Gentlemen Has Been ‘Withdrawn’
According to The U.S. Sun, insiders claimed that Markle could be earning quite the pretty penny if she got a contract with the series. A source shared, “Meghan will be getting at least £1 million for a role on The Gentlemen, perhaps even more. Signing her would be a major coup for the show’s bosses and it would absolutely be worth parting with a sizeable fee.”
However, there is one caveat to the story: no matter what number is being considered for Markle’s paycheck, it won’t matter if she doesn’t get the job. Insiders suggested that she might not be joining the show after all.

According to one source, royal biographer Tina Brown on her Fresh Hell Substack, “I learned this morning that the casting of Meghan Markle in season 3 of Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen has been withdrawn. The backlash in the UK was so intense, it became untenable to go forward. This does not bode well for Meghan’s acting comeback in the UK.”
Of course, even if one job didn’t work out, it’s possible that Markle could return to television in another way. Time will tell what paycheck she could still be earning.
