Hoda Kotb and Joel Schiffman might have ended their engagement, but the two still clearly remain big parts in each other’s lives. In fact, the two still makes headlines with moments they’ve shared together over this past year. Recently, she revealed an emotional moment that really got to Schiffman.
Hoda Kotb Recently Made Her Return To The Fourth Hour Of Today
For many, Kotb is best known for her work with Today. While she stepped away from her position on the show earlier last year, she has still occasionally made appearances on the morning show since then. Professionally, however, she has since focused her attention on her digital wellness startup, Joy 101.
Kotb started a relationship with Joel Schiffman in 2013. While announcing their engagement in 2019 on Today, the two have since ended it. However, the two remain in each other’s lives, as they continue to co-parent their daughters as friends.
During a return to Today‘s fourth hour, Kotb gave fans an update about her life. As she shared, “Just so you know what 62 feels like, it feels really good. Really, really, good.” As previously reported, she had shared photos of a family vacation earlier this month. At the time, Schiffman could be seen in attendance. As she noted in a post on Instagram, “Nothing like being in the same place at the same time.”
Kotb Revealed That A Tender Family Moment Ultimately Left Schiffman Tearing Up
Speaking with Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones, Kotb shared that the vacation doubled as a birthday celebration. She shared, “Let me tell you the highlight of my birthday. OK, so my whole family went to the Bahamas, and my mom, who’s 90, has not gotten on a plane in many, many years, and got on one.”
Kotb continued, “We all went to the Bahamas, and there’s a pool there that she wanted to get into, but said she couldn’t because she didn’t feel stable. So, we said, ‘C’mon, Mom! You can do it, you can do it, you can do it!’”
Kotb then shared that she and a friend helped her mother into the pool. She shared, “Haley was off to the side, whispering to a family member, ‘You got this, Tata! You got this!’ My mom stood in the water, in the pool.”
Kotb noted that this emotional moment really got to Schiffman. While gushing, she shared, “Joel came, too. Joel was crying.”
