12 months to plan. 12 hours to execute. Apple TV unveil the first teaser trailer and first look at upcoming heist drama series 12 12 12.
Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan lead the line for this series with both also involved as producers. The series will probably be one of Mackie’s first projects in a long time outside the Marvel franchise. There is a MCU reunion with Canadian filmmaker Kari Skogland (The Falcon and The Winter Soldier) directing episodes.
The eight part series also stars Jack Kesy (12 Strong, Hellboy: The Crooked Man), Agathe Rousselle (Titane), Sallie Harmsen (Blade Runner 2049), José Garcia (The Ax, Now You See Me) and Kali Reis (True Detective, Mercy), among others.
What’s this one all about? 12 12 12 is set across three timelines of a heist. From the planning, hours of the heist and finally 12 days after the heist. We find a disgrace FBI Agent (Mackie) in a cat and mouse chase with a career criminal ( Dornan) across Europe.
Nice refreshing take on the heist sub genre. This very short teaser if anything doesn’t reveal much apart from the stakes in what might happen to those involved. Here hoping this one will deliver rather than be another formulaic crime drama, we have hope as Apple can deliver where the other failed.
