It was only last month Toy Robot Video tempted us with some ‘Halloween Treats‘. They new label returns with November‘s choices that promise some ‘VHS Faves’ coming to you in glorious 4K.
November’s releases for Toy Robot (an Arrow Video subsidiary) consist of a temptingly-priced slate of high-octane titles. They include Steven Seagal’s explosive star-packed debut in 4K, Chow Yun-Fat and Mark Wahlberg in a restored 90s actioner, a top-notch, contemporary Korean gangster thriller from Jung Woo-sung, and a Japanese fantasy epic making its UK Blu-ray debut.
These films hope to create the wondrous experience of browsing titles at the local video store. The difference this time is except they’re yours to own and cherish. All coming with fabulous new cover artwork, film masters transfers, slip cards, art cards, and plenty of extras!

Action superstars Chow Yun-Fat (The Killer) and Mark Wahlberg (The Departed) are cops embroiled in a brutal triad turf war in New York in this stylish thriller directed by James Foley (At Close Range), with breathtaking cinematography and spectacular action sequences (“including a superbly choreographed car chase through the streets of Chinatown” – Stephen Holden, The New York Times) – all the more exciting in a sparkling 4K restoration. The 2-disc release includes a host of new extras.

A Man of Reason Blu-ray 16th November

The acclaimed directing debut of Korean superstar Jung Woo-sung, this is a fast-paced rollercoaster ride of action and mayhem, starring Jung Woo-sung (The Good, The Bad, The Weird) as a former hitman whose attempts to lead a normal life are scuppered by his vengeful former boss, a nasty gangster brilliantly played by Park Sung-woong (Netflix’s Bloodhounds). Zipang Blu-ray on 16th November
An incredibly entertaining and wild fantasy adventure
A 90s Japanese fantasy epic in a class all of its own, starring Masahiro Takashima (Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla II) as a samurai outlaw up against a female bounty hunter (Narumi Yasuda, Peacock King). Described by The Village Voice as “utterly delirious”, it features supernatural ninja warriors, astonishingly choreographed sword play and wildly unpredictable plot twists [Blu-ray].
