Good Good Golf cofounder Garrett Clark issued a public apology after his company produced a promotional video that has since been pulled from broadcast.

“I personally want to apologize for playing a role in this skit [and] this ad at the magnitude that I did,” Clark, 26, said in a social media video shared Wednesday, August 26. “On Good Good’s behalf and Good Good marketing’s behalf, I wanted to say an apology as well because this is not at all what we stand for. The way that this ad was received was not how Good Good is, and it’s not what we stand for, once again.”

Good Good Golf recently teamed up with Calloway to release a co-branded driver. In a commercial promoting the club, Clark appeared to shove Alexis Miestowski to the ground for trying to touch the driver. The video subsequently raised eyebrows for seemingly glorifying violence against women, leading to Good Good Golf and Calloway pulling the campaign altogether. (Clark maintains that he did not physically touch Miestowski, 26, during production.)

“I want everyone to know that I do not support DV, abuse or any of that of any kind,” Clark stated on Wednesday, claiming that the marketing team had “reached out” with an idea to recreate the 2026 horror movie Obsession but between Clark and his driver. “Looking back, super dumb concept … not the greatest idea.”

According to Clark, his “skin was crawling” once he watched the completed commercial.

“I was cringing, even just minutes after I saw it get posted everywhere online,” he said. “I thought it was the worst ad known to man. The beginning of the ad was very intense … it just [was] not good, all around not good.”

Callaway Golf CEO Chip Brewer has also issued a statement regarding the controversial ad.

“While the video was produced by Good Good, it was approved by Callaway prior to posting. That approval should never have happened,” Brewer said in a statement shared via Instagram. “Mistakes were made, and we are taking the matter very seriously. As we deal with the consequences of our mistake and complete our investigations, I want to make it clear that we sincerely apologize for the video. The content was inappropriate and does not reflect our values.”

Brewer continued, “To be clear: We are unequivocally against discrimination, domestic violence or threatening behavior of any kind. … We believe we have been a positive force for diversity and inclusion in the game of golf. This video was completely inconsistent with that. I assure you  that we will learn from this and do better.”

Brewer further noted that Callaway is conducting internal and external investigations, in addition to “already” making changes to future approval processes.
