Ever since Josh Duggar’s conviction, fans have been following the situation for him and his family as more information about the story comes to light. Recently, a message that Anna Duggar forwarded to Josh has since come to light. In it, a few startling claims were made about Josh and the accusations surrounding him.
Josh Duggar Of 19 Kids & Counting Fame Was Previously Convicted Back In 2021
Viewers were introduced to the Duggar family through shows like 19 Kids & Counting and Counting On. Josh is the oldest of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar’s nineteen children. He married Anna Keller in 2008 and the two have since had seven children together.
In 2021, Josh was convicted of possessing child sexual abuse material. He was sentenced to over 12 years in prison.
Recently, an email Anna sent to Josh in 2022 has resurfaced. Obtained by People, she forwarded her spouse a message from a friend that claimed his conviction and sentence were the result of a failed justice system.
The message read, “I just can’t even wrap my mind around this system of ours. [W]hat purpose does it serve to put a citizen away for that long, especially for a crime that was actually victimless?”
Anna Reportedly Believed Josh’s Sentence Would Be Shortened, Though This Hasn’t Proven To Be The Case
The message later read, “I am incensed by the ridiculousness of it ALL.” The post also described Josh’s conviction as “absolutely crazy.”
The person who wrote the message also said that they didn’t understand why a “productive member of society, a business owner, a father, a husband, a taxpayer” was in prison. They also felt “our society NEEDS these far more desperately than it needs more prisoners.” Ultimately, the message ended with a psalm and further words of support toward Josh.

Reportedly, as the outlet noted, Anna told Josh that she presumed that his sentence would be cut down to 106 months. However, that has not been the case. Currently, he is scheduled for release on Feb. 2, 2033.
According to a Homeland Security investigation, Josh created a “password-protected partition” on his computer. Reportedly, he used this to download CSAM using the dark web and online file-sharing software multiple times throughout 2019.
One of the agents involved with the investigation, Gerald Faulkner, later testified at Josh’s defense hearing. He dubbed one of the videos that Josh had downloaded one of the “five worst of the worst” he had ever seen. This was reportedly due to featuring the abuse of an 18-month-old toddler.
