Arsenal open the defence of their Premier League crown tonight against newly promoted Coventry at the Emirates.
The Gunners have spent the off-season strengthening their already-formidable squad with the likes of Bruno Guimaraes, Christos Tzolis and Ezri Konsa all arriving in North London.
Mikel Arteta’s men are the overwhelming favourites to retain their crown and ought to be confident of claiming three points on the opening night against a Coventry side for whom this is a first game in the top flight for 25 years.
Frank Lampard’s side cruised to the Championship title last season but this represents a difficult start.
