This is his first outright and he has less than three years of service time, so he does not have the right to reject this assignment in favor of electing free agency. MIAMI — A 74-year-old man is set to be put to death Thursday evening for the fatal stabbing of his wife and would become the oldest Florida inmate executed in modern times if the death sentence is carried out as planned. NEW YORK — Federal agents stopped a long line of customers at a Brooklyn convenience store on Tuesday and peeled a skimming device off the mounted card swiper in front of the stunned cashier. Prediction market giant Polymarket confirmed that hackers stole funds from an unspecified number of users after a third party breach. The Trump administration, for the first time, showed evidence that vandals damaged the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool after the $16 billion renovation project was completed. In court filings, the National Park Service said the damage to the liner along the bottom of the pool included “a caulk over the foam sealant that was cut with a sharp knife or razor and destruction or delaminating surface material.” It also said that about 70 fence post tops were thrown into the pool.
