The Supreme Court struck down a Hawaii law requiring people to get permission to carry guns into stores and hotels on Thursday, in its latest opinion backing Second Amendment rights. The high court’s 6-3 decision means people can carry guns onto privately owned property like shopping malls and gas stations, unless the owners specifically say guns are banned at their establishments. It comes shortly after the court found that marijuana users can’t be completely banned from owning firearms. It’s a win for President Trump’s Republican administration, which argued the law violates the Second Amendment. The measure was sometimes referred to…

Photo courtesy: Maggie Stemp-Turner/3DownNation. All rights reserved. The Calgary Stampeders do not anticipate star receiver Reggie Begelton making his 2026 debut anytime soon. “He’s on six-game (injured list), so we’re not that close,” head coach and general manager Dave Dickenson told 770 CHQR this week. “I wouldn’t put guys on six-game if I thought they were week-to-week. We need to see him practice. He still hasn’t practiced all camp, but I believe that he’s giving it everything he’s got. He’s working as hard as he can.” Begelton was carted off the field during a Week 2 win over Toronto in…

Few condiment questions spark more debate than this one. Heinz famously tweeted that ketchup goes in the fridge. The USDA says refrigeration is not required. Restaurants leave it on the table all day. So what is actually correct? Does ketchup need to be refrigerated after opening? The short answer: Commercial ketchup does not require refrigeration for food safety after opening. The USDA confirms that ketchup is shelf-stable and classifies refrigeration as a quality recommendation, not a safety requirement. However, Heinz and most manufacturers recommend refrigerating after opening because cold storage extends both shelf life and flavor quality significantly. Opened ketchup…
You may ask yourself, “Why is an American werewolf in London?” And the answer is that he wasn’t a werewolf when he crossed the Atlantic. David Kessler (David Naughton) and his friend, Jack Goodman (Griffin Dunne), were just normal tourists until a werewolf attacked them and left them for dead. Only David survives the attack, although he sees an apparition of Jack telling him to end his life before he transforms for the first time. David and his new lover, Alex Price (Jenny Agutter), may come to regret not making that choice. Because once David’s inner wolf is unleashed, there’s…
More than 571,000 current and retired federal employees owe $6.3 billion in taxes, a delinquency rate that has been increasing steadily despite threatening letters from the IRS. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee wants to know why the IRS and other federal agencies haven’t cracked down harder on tax scofflaws within their ranks or moved to seize their wages and pensions through an existing enforcement program. In a letter sent Thursday to IRS Chief Executive Officer Frank J. Bisignano, the GOP-led panel asked the agency to turn over data showing the IRS’s efforts to recover unpaid taxes, whether they’ve…
