Texas Tech’s Brendan Sorsby goes through warmups before the spring football game, Friday, April 17, 2026, at Jones AT&T Stadium. Brendan Sorsby plans to punt on further litigation, which finalizes that the former Indiana and Cincinnati quarterback will not play professional football until 2027. Sorsby accepted the NFL’s rejection of his application for the supplemental draft and informed the league on Tuesday he won’t file a lawsuit to challenge the latest ruling that will keep him off the field. “I accept 100% responsibility for my actions. I did not have control of my gambling problem and it took getting caught…
Colorado’s Democratic primaries on Tuesday will help answer a question the party has increasingly faced nationally: Are voters gravitating toward a younger, more progressive generation of leaders or sticking with established veterans? That choice is starkly reflected in the fight to represent the state’s 1st Congressional District, where incumbent Rep. Diana DeGette has been in office for as long as her challenger, a 29-year-old democratic socialist named Melat Kiros, has been alive. Likewise in the U.S. Senate race, Sen. John Hickenlooper has spent nearly three times as many years in public office as his challenger, state Sen. Julie Gonzales, who…

The retailer allegedly failed to meet requirements under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Hapabapa/Getty Images Amazon has agreed to pay $2.25 million in civil penalties to settle a case with the US Federal Trade Commission regarding victims of identity theft. The regulator said the tech giant violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act when it refused to provide those victims, and, in some cases, law enforcement agencies, with transaction records from its online retail business. We reached out to Amazon for comment on the settlement, and will update this article if we hear back. The FCRA requires…
It’s been a busy few months for Servier, which followed its $2.5 billion acquisition of cancer biotech Day One Biopharmaceuticals with a $1.5 billion agreement to buy the neuromuscular business of Edgewise Therapeutics. While it may look like a flurry of dealmaking, Global Head of Business Development Frederic Scaerou says it’s important to take the longer view — and as a privately held company, Servier does. Servier is governed by a non-profit foundation, a structure that means the company does not answer to investors or shareholders. At public companies and even some private ones, the focus is on the next…
A United States-themed beaver sculpture designed to welcome World Cup tourists to downtown Toronto was destroyed over the weekend, prompting a police investigation and indignation from the U.S. ambassador to Canada. The sculpture was among 51 distinct beaver statues clutching soccer balls under their paws that were displayed in various spots near the St. Lawrence Market and the Hockey Hall of Fame as part of special event organized by the local business district.Until recently, the beaver stood four feet tall, with American flags on each cheek framing a wide, toothy grin. It sported a star-spangled USA jersey and was adorned…
The Dodgers announced that right-hander Wyatt Mills has been recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City. Fellow righty Jonathan Hernández has been designated for assignment as the corresponding move. Hernández, 29, was signed to a major league deal just over six weeks ago. Since then, he has made 12 appearances for the Dodgers, working a low-leverage role. He has tossed 17 2/3 innings, allowing 8.15 earned runs per nine. An unlucky 59.1% strand rate didn’t help him out but he also had subpar strikeout and walk rates of 18.1% and 14.5%, respectively. That lackluster performance has nudged him off the roster. He…
WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge on Tuesday struck down a Trump administration overhaul to a public service forgiveness program for student loans, ruling in favor of advocates who said the program risked becoming a tool for political retribution. U.S. District Judge Myong Joun in Massachusetts vacated the U.S. Education Department’s changes, saying they overstepped the agency’s power and threatened to violate First Amendment protections for free speech. His ruling came a day before the new rules were set to take effect. The ruling came in response to a pair of lawsuits filed by more than 20 states along with…

Kylian Mbappe has once again flexed his muscles on the World Cup stage to put France 1-0 up against Sweden in the Round of 32. The Real Madrid star has been at the heart of Les Bleus’ attacks throughout the entirety of the first half, coming close to breaking the deadlock on several occassions. His team-mate Michael Olise almost scored the goal of the tournament 10 minutes before Mbappe’s eventual opener, hitting the post with an outrageous overhead kick from the edge of the box. Sweden went close a couple of times in the first half as well, with both…
