Bayern Munich will hold talks with Harry Kane over a new contract at the end of the season and have also dismissed any idea of selling Michael Olise, with CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge claiming ‘there is no price that would make us twitch’.
Kane’s current deal expires next summer but the clause that allowed him to leave for around £57million has now expired and the expectation is the England captain will extend his stay at the Bundesliga champions.
The 32-year-old has enjoyed another prolific season with Bayern, netting 53 times in all competitions to help the club retain their domestic title and fire them to the semi-finals of the Champions League and the final of the DFB-Pokal.
Bayern CEO bullish over Kane future
And Rummenigge is confident the former Tottenham man will sign a new deal despite reported interest from Barcelona as they look to replace Robert Lewandowski.
In an extensive interview with t-online, he said: “Bringing Harry Kane to Bayern Munich was an important coup in the history of the club. It is known that he had an exit clause. He did not exercise it and thus signalled that he would definitely stay in Munich.
“And now those responsible for operational matters will have talks with him sometime after the season with the clear goal of extending his contract because Harry has been transformed under [Bayern head coach] Vincent Kompany.”
Rummenigge continued: “He has always been a great striker who has scored a lot of goals. But now he is a striker who lets himself fall back into the midfield and from there brings Michael Olise and Luis Díaz into play with his wonderful long passes. This is very important for our game.”

Bayern have no intention of selling Olise either
Olise’s relationship with Kane has been key to Bayern’s success this season and the France winger is reportedly on Real Madrid’s wishlist. A fee of £200m has been mentioned but Rummenigge is adamant the club will not be selling the 24-year-old.
Asked if Bayern could afford to reject an offer of that magnitude, he said: “I will now tell you a story from the past. In 2009 we had an incredible offer for Franck Ribéry from Chelsea. That would have been a new transfer world record at the time.
“I went with it to our then CFO Karl Hopfner and Uli Hoeneß. We spent two hours discussing what we would do with this offer. On that day we decided something fundamental: that in the future we will no longer sell a player that we would miss from a sporting perspective. And this unwritten law still applies today. For a player like Olise, there is no price tag that would make us twitch.
“He is a wonderful player. Incidentally, I also like that he is so reserved and almost media shy. This is the exception in today’s world. He is a good guy and on the pitch he is of course outstanding. That’s why it doesn’t surprise me that he’s so incredibly popular with our fans.”
