Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit has finally been settled, and it seems that the timing was perfect. Yet, was it Blake’s decision, or was someone very vital in her life who pushed her to end it all before everything came crumbling down? Keep reading for more details on why she called it quits.
It Had To End
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni made waves in the 2024 film, It Ends With Us. The movie was highly successful, but several months after it was released, Blake filed a suit. She claimed that there was a hostile work environment, a retaliatory “smear campaign,” and sexual harassment. It went back and forth between Blake and Justin, whose production company, Wayfarer Studios, produced the movie. As time went on, Blake started to look like the bad guy, and it appeared that her career and personal relationships were failing.
She had previously been best friends with Taylor Swift, but even the closest friends had been dragged into the suit. Eventually, it became too much, and the suit was settled on Monday, May 4th. However, it seems that it was Blake Lively’s husband of over a decade, Ryan Reynolds, who pushed her to call time of death on it. Per Rob Shuter’s Substack, it was all Ryan who could tell that prolonging it was a horrid idea:
“He knew the longer this dragged on, the more it would erode everything; her career, her reputation, even their closest relationships.”
An insider added that she just wanted to be right and was being short-sighted. Unfortunately, that was a major hindrance, especially after the end of her longtime friendship with Taylor. The two had been at the Super Bowl together, jumping and screaming. Now, Taylor is prepping to walk down the aisle with Travis Kelce, but Blake is MIA.
Everyone’s Against Blake
Despite what has been said about Justin Baldoni, it is the Los Angeles native, Blake Lively, whom fans are against. They feel that she lost in the end as her friendship with Taylor is over, as is her reputation. She may still work, but will people show up to watch her? That is yet to be seen, but when it was announced that the lawsuit was over, fans immediately had a lot to say:
- Dont think Taylor Swift wouldve been happy to have had to go to court and testify. She def prob pushed this. Blake lost this big time. She wasnt gonna win
- I’m pretty sure this happened because the deleted texts by Blake became public and before she had a bigger fall from grace she and her team reached out again to settle
Do you think that Blake Lively lost her career and her friends? Moreover, should she have ended this sooner? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
