It looks like Outlander fans won’t have to wait too long to return to the Highlands. MGM+ and Sony Pictures Television have unveiled the teaser trailer for season two of Outlander: Blood of My Blood, promising even more romance, drama and conflicts. You can watch it below.
The first season of the Outlander prequel explored the stories of Claire and Jamie’s parents as they met and fought to be together against all odds, while also surprising audiences as their lives and paths became increasingly intertwined.
Now, the new teaser finds Henry (Jeremy Irvine) and Julia Beauchamp (Hermione Corfield) at the standing stones of Craigh na Dun, hoping to make their way home to their daughter Claire after unexpectedly finding themselves in 18th-century Scotland. But it wouldn’t be an Outlander story without a few obstacles along the way and so the teaser shows a distressed Julia left alone with the child, while Henry struggles to find his way back to them.
Elsewhere, the forbidden relationship between Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) and Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) faces fresh challenges as the 1715 Jacobite Rising pushes the clans towards war. Having previously chosen love over family, the pair now are forced to navigate divided loyalties as conflict spreads across the Highlands.
The cast also includes Tony Curran as Simon Fraser, Séamus McLean Ross as Colum MacKenzie, Sam Retford as Dougal MacKenzie, Rory Alexander as Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser and Conor MacNeill as Ned Gowan.
Matthew B. Roberts returns as showrunner, with Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, Toni Graphia, Luke Schelhaas, Michael Wilson, Jim Kohlberg and Luke Parker Bowles serving as executive producers.
Season 2 of Outlander: Blood of My Blood premieres on STARZ on September 18th.
