Team Canada won the bronze medal at the 2026 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships in Geneva, Switzerland on Saturday. The Canadian team comprised of Kadriana and Colton Lott of Selkirk, Manitoba.
In the bronze medal game, the Lotts trounced Italy 11-3. The Italian team comprised of Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner, who won the gold medal in mixed doubles curling at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing and the 2025 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
In the bronze medal final, Canada outcurled Italy by a wide margin. Canada curled at 89% and Italy curled at 65%. The Lotts scored four points in the first end, three points in the third end, and four points in the sixth end. It was after the sixth end when Italy conceded.
This was Colton Lott’s second medal at a world curling championship in the last month. He won a silver medal at the 2026 World Men’s Curling Championships in Ogden, Utah.
In the gold medal game, Australia’s Tahli Gill and Dean Hewitt defeated Sweden’s Therese Westman and Robin Ahlberg by a score of 8-4. Gill and Hewitt have a Canadian connection as they were coached by Canadian Olympic gold medalist John Morris in Canmore, Alberta leading up to the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. Morris of Winnipeg, Manitoba was the third for Kevin Martin when Canada won gold at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, and teamed up with Kaitlyn Lawes of Winnipeg to win gold in mixed doubles curling at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang.
