Los Blancos beat Hungarian side Ferencvaros 2-1 on Saturday, when Mario Rivas and Carlos Espi scored for the Spanish side at Budapest’s Groupama Arena.
Kevin Sanchez scored the only goal of the game on the same day as Deportivo followed up a 1-1 draw with Fiorentina by winning at Genoa.
Madrid’s La Liga campaign starts at Espanyol on August 22 (20:30 BST). Deportivo host Elche on August 17 (20:00).
