Diane Keaton’s connection to her Los Angeles home went far beyond its eventual $18 million price tag. The actress spent years reshaping the Sullivan Canyon property into a deeply personal expression of her taste, turning a 1920s farmhouse into the kind of place she had envisioned for herself.

Now, ten months after her death, the house has changed hands under the direction of her children, Dexter “Dexie” White and Duke Keaton, giving one of the most recognizable pieces of their mother’s personal world a new chapter.

Diane Keaton’s former Sullivan Canyon home has officially sold for $18 million, marking a significant moment for the actress’ estate and the two children who inherited her property.

According to the Daily Mail, the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom residence was sold on Tuesday, with Josh Flagg of Compass representing the seller and Emil Alexander Schneeman of Berkshire Hathaway representing the unidentified buyer.

The final figure was considerably below the $28.9 million asking price attached to the property when it first went on the market in March 2025. The home was relisted three times before ultimately selling, with its most recent asking price set at $22.9 million in June.

For Diane, however, the property had represented much more than a financial asset. She purchased the 9,219-square-foot farmhouse for $4.7 million in 2011 and spent eight years transforming it.

Her renovation became the subject of her 2017 book, “The House That Pinterest Built,” documenting the ideas and design choices that went into creating the residence.

Diane’s Children Move On From The Home She Spent Years Creating

The sale places Diane Keaton’s children at the center of what happens to one of the most personal properties she left behind. Dexter White and Duke Keaton are the primary beneficiaries of their mother’s estate and oversaw the sale of the home.

Diane adopted White in 1996, and Duke in 2001, and the siblings are now responsible for handling the estate following their mother’s death at 79.

The Sullivan Canyon property was particularly personal because the actress had spent years renovating it according to her own vision rather than simply purchasing a finished luxury residence.

Her favorite part of the house was reportedly the kitchen, which featured a large vintage clock and expansive skylights.

The property also carried a Napa-inspired aesthetic, with its vintage materials and carefully considered interiors reflecting Diane’s long-standing fascination with architecture and design.

The end of Diane’s life has continued to generate unexpected glimpses into the “Annie Hall” actress beyond her most famous movie roles, with her personal belongings becoming a major attraction at auction.

Bonhams, the international auction house’s multi-part sale of items from Diane’s collection brought in a combined $4.2 million, with pieces tied to her career, fashion sense and private interests attracting considerably more attention than expected.

Among the biggest surprises was an original “Annie Hall” script, which sold for $394,200 after a 22-minute bidding battle.

The result was nearly 100 times the script’s high estimate, making it one of the most dramatic sales from the collection.

Her clothing and accessories proved particularly popular, including one of her recognizable hats, which sold for $5,888, and a collection of her brown polka-dot scarves, which reached $6,144.

The appeal extended well beyond Hollywood memorabilia. The Hollywood star’s collection included artwork, personal effects and everyday possessions, offering collectors an opportunity to own objects that had actually belonged to the actress rather than simply items associated with her films.

Bonhams said the wider series would feature hundreds of objects, reflecting the breadth of Diane’s interests and her highly recognizable personal aesthetic.

Kimberly Williams-Paisley Keeps Diane’s Spirit Close With Her Iconic Accessories

Diane Keaton’s distinctive fashion sense has found an especially personal new connection through Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who purchased several of the late actress’ accessories at auction a few days ago.

As PEOPLE reported, Williams-Paisley, who played Diane’s daughter in “Father of the Bride” and its sequel, shared photographs of herself wearing a hat and gloves that once belonged to her former onscreen mother.

She explained that she was happy to have “some of her iconic style” with her, turning the auction purchase into something more meaningful than a simple acquisition.

The moment became even more emotional when Williams-Paisley described what happened while she and friends were preparing to photograph the pieces.

According to her Instagram post, a “gorgeous, gigantic bald eagle” landed in a nearby tree before eventually flying away. Williams-Paisley called the appearance extremely rare and said, “It definitely felt like Diane’s energy was around us!”

The accessories themselves also carried a piece of Keaton’s personality. The brown hat features the words “NO MORE WAR,” along with a skull-and-crossbones design added by Keaton.

Williams-Paisley said she intended to pass along the message, giving the fashion item an added meaning beyond its connection to the actress’ wardrobe.

Diane’s film legacy has also received a major television tribute, with Turner Classic Movies dedicating an entire day of its 2026 “Summer Under the Stars” programming to the actress.

Diane was featured on August 6, marking her first appearance as one of the festival’s spotlighted performers.

The annual TCM event dedicated individual days to major film stars, and Diane’s inclusion placed her work alongside that of Hollywood figures such as Doris Day, Humphrey Bogart, Gene Tierney and Steve McQueen.

The programming offered viewers a broad look at the star’s career rather than focusing exclusively on the films for which she is best known.

TCM’s schedule began with “Mrs. Soffel” at 6 a.m., followed by “Father of the Bride” at 8 a.m. and “Father of the Bride Part II” at 10 a.m.

The lineup continued with “Baby Boom” at noon and “Harry and Walter Go to New York” at 2 p.m., giving audiences the opportunity to revisit different stages and genres of Keaton’s career.
