Dr. Drew Pinsky has long been called out for how he has exploited underage girls, especially on Teen Mom. He was the host of the reunions, and several of the cast members were struggling. It was believed that he had the resources to help, but nothing ever seemed to happen. Now, he is under fire for showcasing a minor’s breasts on live television. Taking It Too Far
Many of the Teen Mom girls struggled, as did their partners and exes. They expressed how they needed help or that production saw them suffer, but nothing was done. One person who could have done something was the reunion host, Dr. Drew Pinsky. Yet, it appeared that he talked a lot but never stepped up. Jenelle Evans even claimed that she asked MTV for assistance when it came to her son, Jace. However, it fell on deaf ears, and again, there was a well-known doctor, but where was he?
Fans of the hit MTV show have long called him out for his abusive and manipulative ways:
- Hes terrible. So incredibly exploitative
- He is a horrible doctor, father, and overall human being.
- He’s just another wealthy white douchebag dude who made a career off of exploiting the vulnerable, just like Dr. Phil.
Now, he is being called out by Courtney Stodden for something he did to her when she was just sixteen. Many may recall that she was a child bride, married to actor Doug Hutchison, who was 51 at the time. He was her acting teacher, and she claims that she was groomed to marry him. As to how Dr. Drew plays into this, he had her on his show, Dr. Drew’s Lifechangers, in 2011. She was 16, and he had her undergo an ultrasound to prove her boobs were real:
“Dr. Drew had me on his show when I was 16 and had me undergo an ultrasound to see if my breasts were real or if I was lying about my breasts. I wasn’t an underage girl. I was a minor trapped in a situation that I wasn’t able to get out of legally. I had no rights at the time. The money he paid me to be on the show went straight to my abuser.”
The Shock Of It All
After Courtney Stodden’s followers saw what she went through, they were blown away. Many already knew her story, but to see how Dr. Drew Pinksy was implicated was sickening:
- This is so disturbing. I am so sorry you went through this. It was wildly inappropriate. 💔
- this is child abuse. and dr drew is a disgusting person
- How did we ever live in a world where this was ok? And how is anyone confused about female rage?
- like truly cannot believe what your life has been. so insane
Actress Rose McGowan shared how proud she was of Courtney for who she is now, but was so sorry for what she had been through. No one should ever be exploited like this. Fortunately, she is sharing her story and making it clear that this is unacceptable.
