Finn Wolfhard announced his second studio album on Friday. The record is called Fire From The Hip, and it’s due out July 10, 2026.
Wolfhard posted the news on Instagram. “My second record, Fire From The Hip is out on July 10th. Pre-save or pre-order it now at the link in bio,” he wrote. Pre-save and pre-order links went live at the same time.
The announcement comes roughly three weeks before the release date, a fairly tight window. A tracklist and lead singles haven’t been shared alongside the title. The July 10 date and the album name are the only confirmed details right now.
The post drew more than 319,000 likes on Instagram. That kind of response points to real crossover reach. Wolfhard’s fanbase spans his acting audience – a large group built over close to a decade on Stranger Things – and a music crowd that’s tracked his recording work for years.
He’s been playing music since his mid-teens. Wolfhard co-founded Calpurnia, a Vancouver-based indie rock band, in 2017. The group released an EP called “Scout” and built a genuine following. They went on hiatus in 2019. He then formed The Aubreys with musician Malcolm Craig. The pair put out music together and gave Wolfhard room to develop his songwriting outside of a full-band context. Solo work came after that.
Stranger Things didn’t launch his music career. It was already underway. Calpurnia formed during his early run on the show, not because of it. The music and acting have always been separate tracks.
On screen, Wolfhard is best known as Mike Wheeler in Netflix’s Stranger Things. The series ran from 2016 to 2025 across five seasons. He was part of the cast from day one. For close to a decade, that meant balancing a major TV production with music commitments on the side. With the show now finished, that’s no longer a scheduling factor.
Fire From The Hip is his second record under his own name. No singles or preview tracks have been shared yet. The full album arrives July 10.
Wolfhard’s past projects included live shows, so tour dates could follow. Nothing beyond the release date is confirmed right now.
Pre-orders are open now through his Instagram bio. Wolfhard hasn’t confirmed a live run to go with the record. Given his history with touring, that could follow in the coming weeks.
