    From Esa Guha to Dinesh Karthik: ICC unveils star-studded commentary panel for Women’s T20 World Cup 2026

    The cricketing world is gearing up for one of the biggest events in the women’s game as the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 is set to be played across England and Wales from June 12 to July 5. The month-long tournament will feature 12 teams competing in 33 matches, with the opening clash seeing hosts England take on Sri Lanka. The competition will culminate with the final at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground, promising an unforgettable celebration of women’s cricket. As anticipation continues to build among fans worldwide, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled an impressive broadcast team that will bring every moment of the tournament to life.

    Star-studded panel announced for Women’s T20 World Cup 2026

    In a significant move that reflects the growing stature of women’s cricket, the ICC has assembled a world-class, female-led commentary panel for the tournament. The line-up features former World Cup winners, legendary international cricketers, respected broadcasters and experienced analysts who will provide expert insights throughout the competition.

    Among the biggest names on the panel are former England stars Isa Guha and Ebony Rainford-Brent, both members of England’s historic World Cup-winning squads. Australia’s Mel Jones and Julia Price, who tasted World Cup success during their playing careers, are also part of the team, while former West Indies all-rounder Stacy-Ann King adds her experience as a Women’s T20 World Cup champion.

    The ICC has also brought together celebrated figures from the men’s game. Former Australia opener Matthew Hayden, India’s Dinesh Karthik and West Indies hero Carlos Brathwaite will lend their expertise to the coverage. Adding further weight to the broadcast is the return of renowned voices Nasser Hussain, Ian Bishop and Ian Smith, a trio remembered fondly for their commentary during some of cricket’s most iconic moments.

    The combination of former players and experienced broadcasters is expected to provide viewers with in-depth analysis, behind-the-scenes stories and tactical insights throughout the tournament.

    Expectations high from the global event

    With the countdown underway, excitement surrounding the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 continues to rise. The tournament is expected to showcase some of the finest talents in world cricket, with several global superstars aiming to leave their mark on English soil.

    India’s Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur will be among the key attractions, while Australia will once again rely on experienced campaigners Ellyse Perry, Beth Mooney and Amelia Kerr‘s trans-Tasman rivals from New Zealand. South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt and Marizanne Kapp are expected to play crucial roles, while West Indies captain Hayley Matthews remains one of the most dangerous all-rounders in the game.

    Hosts England will look towards Heather Knight and Lauren Bell to inspire a title challenge. Elsewhere, players such as Babette de Leede, Nigar Sultana, Gaby Lewis, Kathryn Bryce, Chamari Athapaththu, Sophie Devine and Fatima Sana will be eager to make an impact on the global stage.

    With elite players, packed stadiums and an exceptional broadcast team, the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 promises to be a landmark event for the sport and another major step forward in the growth of women’s cricket worldwide.
