Reigning FA Cup and EFL Cup champions Manchester City have released their new Puma away shirt as part of the club’s kit for the 2026/27 season.

The shirt, which was unveiled in July as part of the club’s pre-season tour of Hong Kong, is black and yellow and finished with a swarm of worker bees.

Erling Haaland, Vivianne Miedema, Phil Foden, Bunny Shaw, Antoine Semenyo, Jade Rose, Omar Marmoush, Kerstin Casparij and Marc Guehi are among the stars to have shown off the kit.

Here are the key details on the release, including the story behind the design and how to buy the new kit.

Man City away kit: When will Premier League side wear new shirt?

The kit was revealed in Hong Kong on July 30, with a floating vessel pitch hosting a local community tournament and player appearances.

City will wear it for the first time when they face Italian giants Inter in Hong Kong on August 1 (12:30 BST).

The bee is a familiar symbol around the streets of Manchester, described by City as demonstrating the “graft, unity and resilience” that “define” Manchester.

The kit aims to “channel the noise of the away end and the identity of the streets back home”. “Doesn’t matter if you were born in Manchester or just buzzin’ to be here,” City add. “The bee says you’re one of us.”

“I’ve never seen something like this floating pitch and I’m a little jealous of everyone who’s getting to play on it right now,” Foden said at the launch.

“The kit is something special, so I’m looking forward to wearing it this season as we do our best to make you all proud.”

Puma’s Dominique Gathier said the design aimed to give City’s players the best possible playing materials while “carrying real meaning for the city and its fans”.

“We wanted every detail to reflect the identity of this club and the culture around it,” explained Gathier.

“It’s a shirt built for the pitch but made to be worn with pride well beyond it.”

How to buy Man City 26/27 away kit

The kit is available from City’s online shop and the Etihad Stadium and Arndale and Trafford Centre shopping outlets in Manchester.

“The worker bee is one of Manchester’s most enduring and recognisable symbols and represents the values that have shaped our city for generations: hard work, resilience, community, and pride,” said Councillor Shazia Butt, Executive Member for Culture Leisure and Libraries at Manchester City Council.

“We’ve worked closely with [City and Puma] to ensure its use on the [kit] is authentic and respectful of its significance.

“Seeing the bee showcased to a global audience through one of Manchester’s most recognised institutions is a fitting celebration of our city, our people and the spirit that continues to define Manchester today.”
